Babymoon

Kyle and I recently returned from our vacation lovingly dubbed our Babymoon  It was our last big hurah before our little man makes it here.  We'll still enjoy this summer and every other here after to it's fullest but we don't foresee any tropical gallivanting in our near future with our new addition on the way.

We have been looking forward to this vacation for over a year and a half.  We booked it in January of 2009, the opportunity to be some of the first people to be on Royal Caribbeans new ship was too good to pass up.  The new ship was amazing.  It's the largest cruise ship there is out of any fleet.  It had a promenade for shopping like most cruise ships but it also has a central park where there is more shopping, dinning, trees and tropical foliage; boardwalk with more shopping and carousel; outdoor aqua theatre where they have a live dive show; they also have two flow riders which the boys basically lived on while we were at sea.

We left out of Ft. Lauderdale so we decided it would be fun to arrive in Florida a few days early to enjoy the war, weather and get the vaca started of right.  We had a full day to spend before we left on the ship so we decided we had to head down to South Beach.  We got directions and headed out, when we made it there we drove around for quite a while trying to find a parking spot.  Finally, we found one a few blocks up from the beach so we took the most direct route straight onto the beach.  We walked right up to a stand that rented umbrellas and chairs and got set up basically where we walked onto the beach.  We all sat down and started to lotion up; as we looked around we noticed that there were a lot of men wearing those tight little European numbers.  We figured that most of them were foreign since we couldn't understand a word they were saying.  As we walked out into the water I noticed as we passed everyone that there were really only men... hmmm.  The boys were a little ahead of Erin and I so I turned to her and said "Erin, the boys are going to freak but I think we might be on a gay beach, did you notice that there were like all guys when we walked down?"  She laughed and turned towards the beach, she laughed again a little harder and then proceeded to point out to me that sure enough.... there were two rainbow flags on the beach about 100 feet away from one another and our stuff was set up right smack dab in the middle of it all.  So there we were, two hetero married (pegnant) Mormon couples from Utah in the middle of the only gay section of the beach to be found in like 10 miles of beautifully pristine beach to choose from.  Go figure. (that's our funny story for the trip)

We basically just beached it the whole time we were out at our three stops Nassau, St. Thomas and St. Maarten.  It was great to just sit back and relax even though I wasn't able to get an even tan with the whole not being able to lay on my tummy thing.

Now it's onto summer with all the projects and baby preparation.
