Family Fun

Kyle and I have just returned from a long weekend trip out to St. George with my Family.  My Mom has been dying to have us all go out there to spend dome family time and she finally convinced us all to go.

We were lucky enough to have my very generous Aunt and Uncle let us use their second home they have in Hurricane for us all to stay in which was way nice.

We started off headed down after work on Thursday.  We managed to hit some rain and snow on our way down which always makes for a nerve racing drive but we made it in one piece.

On Friday we decided that since the weather was supposed to be best we would head out for a hike.  My Mom had found a trail online that was supposed to take to to some petroglyphs.  It ended up being a long hike to what we thought was going to be a disappointing end.  We only saw to glyphs on the hike up but we just assumed that the finale would be at the end of the 3.5 miles.  So we hiked and hiked with not much to look at until we decided that there really wasn't going to be a happy end of the trail.  So we turned around to head back to the truck, on the way we ran into an old man that must hike that trail a bit and he told us where all the glyph's were, which was on a little trail below the rock line that we were hiking above.  So in the end it ended up being a neat thing to see.

On Saturday we took a long truck ride up a dirt road to see a secluded  section of the Grand Canyon just over the AZ boarder.  The drive it's self was nothing to speak of but the view at the end was amazing!  I'm always mind boggled to see these types of things, and it makes me sad to think that the majority of the human civilization has no idea that bits of the world like this exist.

All in all it was a fun trip!  Thanks to Mom and Dad for making it happen!
