The Super Duper BIG Suprise, Part 1

Remember that huge project that I mentioned earlier?  Well this is it!
First a little background on how it all got started.  My dearest Mother, as you may know, is a very talented quilter.  When both my sister and I got married she decided to make us beautiful queen sized quilts to sleep under with our new hubbies as our wedding gift from her.  Charlotte has been married for almost 10 years and used her quilt every day and it was finally giving into the wear and tear, so my Mom offered to make her a new quilt.  As my mom was making her new quilt she read a Feature Friday post on designer Brooke's blog, All things Thrifty where she features her followers furniture/craft makeovers that they have sent her.  This particular post was about two sisters that decided to give their brothers bachelor pad a surprise makeover while he was out of town.  Mom decided that was just the thing Charlotte needed with her beautiful new quilt!
A plan was hatched!
Mom and I collaborated for months on design ideas, furniture selections, and color schemes.  Finally this Labor Day weekend it was time to put it all in action while Charlotte and her husband were out of town.
We absolutely LOVE the way it turned out! Charlotte loves color, I think she'll be happy.

Crafting Like Crazy

As you've noticed the posts have been MIA until now.  I have been crafting my little brains out, as well as refinishing furniture.  At the moment Im in the middle of a HUGE project that will be a super fun reveal when it's done.  Here are few tid bits I've completed.

Found this super cute mirror and the Layton DI.  I couldn't resist it even though I don't have a wall big enough for it.  I finished it in Krylons Sun Yellow and a little glaze, yumm!  It's FOR SALE, I wish I could keep it.

Kyle's Mom, Nan came down for  day with me and Tyce and brought a chair to refinish.  We whipped this baby together in about 1.5 hours.  Isn't that fabric adorable?  We found it at Handcock Fabrics for only $6 a yard!

We got family pictures taken  in June and got the disc a few weeks later.  I knew that I had to get them framed and hung immediately or who knew when I'd get around to it.  I ran out to DI to find some fun frames that wouldn't break the bank and got them started as soon as I got home.  I got them finished an hung the very next day.

I made this little stand with the idea of a food tray but them I thought it would be fun to use as a jewelry tray on the dresser, a little bling for my little bling.

Super busy, super fun.  There's still more but alas it will wait!

11 Months and Counting

My baby just turned 11 months yesterday, his birthday is just around the corner and I'm busily preparing for his party.  It's hard to do though with Tyce crawling circles around me, he keeps me really busy as you can see.

Tyce is even attempting to walk already.  He still wont repeat or say Mama or Dada, but he sure knows what a cow says.  MOOOO!

J-E-LLO, No!

I've been trying to Start Tyce on some solid foods.  Mostly he just gags on it until he throws up.  So I thought, jello would be great right?  He can just smush it right up or even swallow it whole.  Well he wasn't a big fan...
Maybe he'll be eating baby food forever.

My Little Fish

We bought Tyce a little swimming pool to cool off this summer.  He loved it the first time he got in there!  Yes he's naked again...well...because why wouldn't you swim naked while you can!

Fun on the Fourth

Family night landed on the fourth of July this year and it was my turn.  I decided I wanted to try and make things a little more festive than what I usually do.  So I hit up the dollar store and vola!

Some fun streamers and tissue paper poms later and it was feeling real patriotic.
I even attempted those super cute dipped strawberries I kept seeing all over blog land.
We played a little Mexican horseshoes
Then headed for Clearfield fireworks.

It was fun to make things a little special, I think that from now on I'm going to put a little more effort into all those special occasions and holidays to make the memories that much more special.
